Documents required for self-drive car rental
Two originals: a valid driving licence and a government photo ID. That is the whole list. No credit card requirement, no salary slip, and no notarised anything.
What to have ready
Bring the originals. We check them when the car reaches you.
Held by the person who will actually drive. It must be a full licence — a learner licence does not qualify, and neither does a photocopy or a photo on your phone. If your licence has expired, renew it before you book; we cannot hand over a car against an expired one.
Years, for most cars. Premium cars may carry a higher minimum, which we tell you with your quote.
Passport, voter ID or PAN also work. Original, not a copy.
The deposit can be paid however suits you. We do not block a card.
A foreign licence in English, or an International Driving Permit alongside your home licence, is accepted with your passport and visa page. Message us before you book so we can confirm your specific documents rather than you finding out at handover.
Two rules worth knowing
Both exist because of insurance, not bureaucracy.
The person whose licence we checked is the person insured to drive. If someone else needs to share the driving, tell us at booking and we will add them properly rather than you risking the cover.
Same name, same person. If your documents disagree because of a spelling or a name change, flag it before the car is dispatched.

Questions about documents
What documents are required for self-drive car rental in Chandigarh?

Is a learner licence accepted?
No. It must be a full driving licence. A learner licence does not qualify under the insurance, so we cannot hand over a car against one.
Do you accept a photocopy or a photo of my licence?
No, we need to see the original document at handover. A DigiLocker or mParivahan record is not a substitute for the physical licence.
What is the minimum age to rent a self-drive car?
